Singer Frank Lamphere plays the Empire Room in the Palmer House Chicago
On Friday, April 08 2011 singer Frank Lamphere and his jazz trio were hired to perform at the President’s Reception in the Empire Room at the Palmer House. The event was a part of the Audiology Now conference that took place in Chicago that week. Frank and his group had a great time making music on the very stage that has played host to so many great entertainers through the years. Among the entertainers that have perfomed on that stage are: Bobby Darin, Lou Rawls, Jimmy Durante, Maurice Chevalier, Liberace, Harry Belafonte, Peggy Lee, Eartha Kitt, Nancy Wilson and many others. Frank's musical highlights included a salute to three big U.S cities I Left My Heart in San Francisco, My Kind of Town (Chicago Is), and the theme from New York New York.
The Palmer House Hilton is dubbed the longest continuously operating hotel in North America.
